Once you've selected those items, delete them and then launch Cinema 4D again. Once you've done that you will need to select three items: The Cinema 4D folder, the "machines_rb_20.prf" and the "teamrender_rb_20.prf" (you need the last two even if you do not use Team Render as Cinema 4D still stores some preferences data in those files). Orly Weintraub Gilad tells the story behind her tattoo. ![]() One reason for choosing the right arm was because she did not want to see the number “on the side of the heart”. She says she wanted “to do it the same but different”. Her grandfather’s number was on his left arm, but Weintraub Gilad placed her own tattoo on her right arm. The choice of green vines and leaves came from her love of nature. But the resulting composition is as much about her family’s history as it is about their collective future. From different vines emerge letters, the initials of the names of Weintraub Gilad’s husband and her children. The tattoo itself features her grandfather’s number in a nest of leafy green vines. For example, crime seems difficult to explain from the functionalist perspective it seems to play little role in maintaining social stability. Latent functions may be undesirable, but unintended consequences, or manifestly dysfunctional institutions may have latent functions that explain their persistence. Latent functions are its unintended functions. Manifest functions are the intended functions of an institution or a phenomenon in a social system. In the 1950s, Robert Merton elaborated the functionalist perspective by proposing a distinction between manifest and latent functions. Dysfunctional institutions, which do not contribute to the overall maintenance of a society, will cease to exist. Because social institutions are functionally integrated to form a stable system, a change in one institution will precipitate a change in other institutions. The various parts of society are assumed to work together naturally and automatically to maintain overall social equilibrium. In the functionalist perspective, societies are thought to function like organisms, with various social institutions working together like organs to maintain and reproduce them. The functionalist perspective continues to try and explain how societies maintained the stability and internal cohesion necessary to ensure their continued existence over time. Instead, modern societies rely on organic solidarity because of the extensive division of labor, members of society are forced to interact and exchange with one another to provide the things they need. Modern societies however, do not fall apart. Durkheim argued that modern industrial society would destroy the traditional mechanical solidarity that held primitive societies together. By contrast, he observed that, in modern societies, traditional family bonds are weaker modern societies also exhibit a complex division of labor, where members perform very different daily tasks. Such societies were held together by shared values and common symbols. According to Durkheim, more primitive or traditional societies were held together by mechanical solidarity members of society lived in relatively small and undifferentiated groups, where they shared strong family ties and performed similar daily tasks. He sought to explain social stability through the concept of solidarity, and differentiated between the mechanical solidarity of primitive societies and the organic solidarity of complex modern societies. ![]() ![]() Durkheim was concerned with the question of how societies maintain internal stability and survive over time. ![]() It is sometimes called structural-functionalism because it often focuses on the ways social structures (e.g., social institutions) meet social needs.įunctionalism draws its inspiration from the ideas of Emile Durkheim. One of the reasons Customer Success Leaders have trouble finding information on the Customer Journey is because Customer Success is relatively new, at least compared to Sales and Marketing, who have been using a Customer Journey for the buyer’s journey. The difference here is that a Success Map is customer-facing, whereas a customer journey map is internal and also contains some additional strategic guidance. In many ways, it’s similar to a Success Map. It’s a visual representation of every step both the customer and your company need to take in order for the customer to get from A to B. If Customer Success is getting the customer from A to B, the customer journey map is HOW they get there. While most of those people are OUTSIDE CS, here’s a simple definition you can use to explain CS to the rest of your company:Ī Customer buys a product because they have a problem (A) and want to fix it using your product (B).Ĭustomer success helps take the customer from A to B as quickly and easily as possible.Ģ) Tell their friends (free marketing and new sales!)ģ) Buy more from you – because you’ve proven you are trustworthy and can get ^%#* done. This is so basic, yet to even ask these questions requires a complete mindset and cultural change starting with senior leadership and through all levels of the organization. What innovations can we introduce that will enhance the customer’s buying experience? How can we improve the customer’s experience while they are waiting in line? What do we have to change to simplify this process for staff and shorten the wait for customers, knowing we are always short of staff on the floor? If they had they would be asking the questions: Why is it like this? The alternative can be such a better experience – either online or in stores that have streamlined processes and found added value to make it a much better experience for customers.Īt Macy’s it seems that none of the executives or store managers have actually “walked in the shoes of their frustrated customers”. Again, a line of people waiting for the sales assistant to go out back, locate the goods, bring them back to the counter and process the transaction – that’s ugly! The ugly: The customer must return to the store during the “sale” period to collect the goods purchased pre-sale. The pre-sale purchased products are put away for the customer to return to collect on sale day – that’s bad! If there is a line of people having this done (which is common due to the shortage of staff on the floor) then a customer can be waiting 30-40 minutes. The bad: The administrative process for sales assistants to record these pre-sale purchases at the sale price delays the customer 10-15 minutes for the procedure to be carried out. The good: If something is purchased just a few days prior to an upcoming sale, Macy’s will offer the customer the sale price for the items purchased before the sale – that’s good!
